E-Tanka Cafe!

Thunder Valley-eTanka Café set for March 30 opening

It has been a busy week in our office for Team Tanka and our partners from Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation. We have been busy building walls, assembling tables and hooking up computers for the new Thunder Valley-eTanka Café that is set to open at the end of the month.

The Café will be located inside the Lakota Express/Native American Natural Foods building on Water Tower Road in Kyle, S.D. In fact, the Café is right outside the entrance to the sales and marketing area of Native American Natural Foods, the company that brings you Tanka Bar. So we’ve had a front-row seat for all of the excitement.

According to Nick Tilsen, the Executive Director of Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation, the Café’s doors will be open to the public on March 30.

“Later, we are planning a big public relations event,” he said. “Right now, we are ordering food and drink products, and as you can see, the team is busy. Also, we are asking for donations for 42” LCD TV monitors.”

Lacey Pourier, also with Thunder Valley, said, “We will be selling the Tanka Dog, an all buffalo product. This will be larger than a regular hot dog, and sold along with kettle chips and blank CDs.

“We also are working with Vitamin Water so we can sell it (in the Café). Coffee will also be available in the future. When we are established, e-Tanka Café has plans for open mic nights and possibly live music.”

The Tanka Dog is one the new Tanka products to be introduced in 2009 by Native American Natural Foods. It will initially be available for food service sales, which means it will only be available to cafes, restaurants, cafeterias and other food service establishments.

Other Tanka products set for 2009 release are the Tanka Bar Spicy Pepper Blend, the Tanka Bites multipack, and the Tanka Bites Spicy Pepper Blend multipack.
